Love Aaj Kal Trailer Review: Takes You On A High Without Drugs

Love Aaj Kal Trailer Review: Just like Salman Khan, even Imtiaz Ali’s films “Dil mein aati hain, samajh mein nahi”. So basically If I am an electron, Imtiaz Ali never misses a chance to take me from the ground state to an excited state. People will curse me for saying this but there’s a sheer madness in his films, a ‘high’ of emotions which only he can provide. Imtiaz Ali’s films have a certain energy of love, a high frequency which you can catch only if you vibrate there.

Starting from Aahista Aahista to Jab Harry Met Sejal, he has done it, again and again, and now with Love Aaj Kal he is back at showing the beauty of honest, pure and modern-day love. After facing back to back debacles at the box office, Imtiaz Ali is definitely looking for a success now and that’s why he has come up with the second installment of his 2009’s Super Hit film of the same name. Being in the film business, the box office pressure is obvious but I loved the way Imtiaz hasn’t compromised with the essence for which his films are loved. It looks like at least after watching the trailer.

The honest, mad, deep in love characters are always a highlight of Imtiaz Ali’s films. The characters of Veer & Zoe in Love Aaj Kal are the same. They know what they think and have no qualms in speaking it. No matter how it may appear to others. They are honest, innocent and can break into dance almost anywhere because love makes them do it. And pyaar ke aage kiska hi bas chala hai? The dialogues are fresh but carry the fragrance of a typical Imtiaz Ali film. People may complain that he has made a new film by amalgamating his previous ones just like he does every time and they have a valid point, but it works because he justifies it well.

So just like Love Aaj Kal (2009), Love Aaj Kal (2020) has two stories being told in different timelines i.e. 1990 & 2020. With both stories, Imtiaz has that same idea to reflect, “Ikko ae kahaani bas badle zamaana”. Kartik Aaryan & Sara Ali Khan have tried a lot to match the requirement of performances. They have done quite a good job but have remained below the high par. Pritam’s music looks promising and I’ve high hopes here.

Overall, Love Aaj Kal‘s trailer takes you on a high without drugs. It made me dance, cry and laugh at the same time and yes it really worked for me.
